We equip youth with skills for self-reliance and productive participation in society. Our skill-building initiatives also focus on providing high quality professional development trainings and workshops based on real world application for educators that empower them to enhance teaching effectiveness.

Youth Empowerment Series for Micro Entrepreneurs

A program to train and counsel underserved youth interested in becoming entrepreneurs by helping them to create strong business cases and obtain funding from financiers. The program seeks to alleviate the employability and employment challenge in urban centres to improve economic condition of youth.

How it Works:

Mobilise: Partner with organisations working with youth/ funding agencies to mobilise target group.

Train: Empower youth for entrepreneurial ventures-

  • Classroom training on spoken English, entrepreneurial skills, digital literacy and financial literacy
  • Idea incubation boot-camp for strengthening business plan
  • Exposure visits
  • Measure training impact for each module

Fund: Initial seed funding for business plans (in-principal agreement by investors to finance their entrepreneurial venture).

Student & Teacher Empowerment Program (STEP)

The Student and Teacher Empowerment Program (STEP) seeks to improve teaching-learning practices and consequently enhance the quality of learning in the classrooms. The focus of the program is on increasing the effectiveness of teaching through well-designed and need-aligned professional development and mentoring on pedagogy skills, subject enrichment techniques, classroom management, assessment tools, and more. The emphasis on teacher effectiveness is designed to bring consistency in teaching practice and enhance teachers’ sense of efficacy with the eventual goal of enhancing student learning.

How it Works:

Identify: Identify professional development needs and student learning levels.

Situational Analysis- School, Teachers, Students; Baseline Study of students; Entry Skill Survey of Teachers.

Train: Conduct professional development sessions.

Customized STEP content (training sessions); STEP sessions; Classroom Observations; In-class support in teaching.

Mentor: Guide teachers on challenges identified via classroom observation of their teaching.

Study: Describe the change in teaching effectiveness as a result of the intervention.

Exit Skill Survey of Teachers; Endline Study of students, Impact (Stories of Change).

Professional Development

Learning Links Foundation offers training programs tailored to help teachers maximize their potential and skills to succeed in the 21st century classrooms. Customised Solutions

We designed a program for the capacity building of educators employed in Supplementary Learning Centers (SLCs) in Andhra Pradesh.

How it Works:

Capacity Building of educators and NGO managers in SLCs through workshops on pedagogical strategies, makeover of SLCs using Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs), activity based/ experiential learning and engaging students.

Monitoring and Mentoring of SLC educators to ensure successful implementation of the training programs conducted.

Evidence Inspired Teaching

Learning Links Foundation in partnership with state education directorates in Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, and Jharkhand has been working towards improving the teaching and learning environment in government primary and middle schools. This is done by strengthening assessment processes and using assessment data to bridge learning gaps thereby enabling higher learning outcomes in students.

How it Works:

  • Use Quality Management Tool (QMT) to capture data on Classroom Teaching and its impact on Student Learning Outcome
  • Data Analysis to understand student learning gaps and support required
  • Data Analysis to understand Teacher Training needs in the state
  • Set up Education Management Information Systems (EMIS) in the schools
  • Capacity building of teachers, Cluster Resource Coordinators (CRCs) and Block Resource Coordinators (BRCs) on Education Management Information System (EMIS)
  • Leverage E-Tab as a Teaching Learning Material (TLM) and tool for mentoring, monitoring and capturing data which later can be used for gap identification and further planning

Math Enhancement Program

The Math Enhancement Program guides teachers to build student engagement and interest in mathematics, leading to an eventual increase in student learning outcomes. It gains its strength from its strong focus on building an in-depth conceptual understanding of the subject using a Math Lab with various Math manipulatives. This makes Math meaningful for the students by helping them build connections between mathematical concepts and their real world applications. The specially designed Math Lab is a space designed for students to learn mathematics by performing activities and undergoing a hands-on experience to make it a fun and engaging experience for students of all ages. The Math Lab also encourages collaborative learning among students.

How it Works:

Empower teachers with pedagogy skills by increasing their subject teaching expertise through training and mentoring.

Integrate the use of Math Labs in teaching of Math and support teachers in using the lab to build engaging learning experiences for their students.

Promote Participatory and Collaborative Learning by setting up a Math Club in each school.

Encourage volunteers to organise Math club activities and support Math learning.
